The Atwater Police Department, Merced County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, and the California Department of Justice served search warrants at two locations, 2200 Block of Eucalyptus Street and the 900 Block of Atwater Blvd at 7:00 a.m. this morning.
The search warrant was served due to the March 22, 2020 suspicious death investigation where a female was found deceased in a car at Ralston Park. After an autopsy that death was ruled a homicide by the Coroner, police say.
Both locations are being processed by the California Department of Justice Regional Crime Lab out of Ripon.

Young was booked into the Merced County Jail on a warrant out San Mateo and 1 count of PC187 Murder. Kelly was also booked into the Merced County Jail on a count of an Accessory to Commit Murder.
Atwater Police are also releasing the identity of the deceased as being Renee Osborne, 58 years old, a resident of Merced.
This is case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office to file formal charges.
