Just after 11:00 a.m. Merced PD was dispatched to the area of 16th street and MLK for a bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle near the Starbucks parking lot.
The vehicle apparently struck the bicyclist after crossing paths at a stop sign.
The vehicle stayed on scene.
The call originally came in as non-injury; however, minutes later Riggs was requested due to the man complaining of pain.
The man then was transported by Riggs to Mercy Hospital in Merced for arm pain, which is the same arm he recently broke.
