On February 25, 2020 the Merced Police Department began to investigate a reported sexual assault that had occurred in the 500 block of W. 25th Street in Merced.
The female victim in this case reported that she had gone to the office of Doctor Jaimal Sangha for a chiropractic visit. During the visit, the victim reported that Sangha, on multiple occasions, inappropriately touched her, police say.
As detectives began to follow up on the case, they discovered that similar allegations had been made against Sangha in the past. As a part of the investigation, Sangha was interviewed by detectives and he denied the allegations.
On March 16, 2020, Sangha was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on multiple sexual assault related charges.
