On October 1st, 2006, Bill (age 91) and Lena Chapman (age 81) were murdered in their home on East South Bear Creek. It appears that the Chapman’s were awakened and interrupted a burglar at which time a struggle ensued and the Chapman’s were killed by blunt force trauma. The home was intentionally set on fire.
Merced Police Department Detectives report they have received recent information on this crime, and are looking for anyone who knows anything about this crime of the person(s) who committed it.
