On September 20, 2018, the Los Banos Police Department investigated a report of a possible theft. Officers learned a Michael Oliveira came into contact with an elderly Los Banos resident. Oliveira is a landscaper by trade. Oliveira offered the resident to cut down some trees for a set amount of money. Oliveira and the resident came to an agreement, and Oliveira began to do the landscaping work. Oliveira finished some of the work. Oliveira managed to convince to the resident to pay him the majority of the funds for the work he had completed thus far. Oliveira agreed to return the next day to complete the job, but he never returned.
At least two Los Banos residents have reported fraud cases involving this man. Oliveira has a history of doing similar things in Santa Clara County. Please be cautious when doing business with this person.
