A man is now in custody after a robbery at Marie’s Mexican Kitchen in Merced, police say.
Incident happened on May 28, 2020.
A man ran into Marie’s Mexican Kitchen at 259 W. Main St, and stole $19.00 from a cash register. A female employee attempted to stop him, she was quickly pushed to the ground, police say.
An officer arrived shortly after and was able to get a description from the victim.
While officers were searching the area, they located a subject matching the description given by the victim. The subject identified as Richard Gonzales (29) was detained. An infield line-up was conducted and the victim positively identified Gonzales as the suspect who stole the money from the cash register and pushed her to the ground.
Gonzales was transported to the Merced County Jail where he was booked for Strong arm Robbery.
