A 75-year-old man was found laying on the side of the roadway after a vehicle struck him and fled the scene, police say.
Police responded to 16th and O Street for a felony hit-and-run on April 8, 2021. Police found an elderly man suffering from head lacerations on the roadway, early investigations determined the man was hit by a vehicle, vehicle parts on scene suggested.
On 4-9-21, a follow up on the case was conducted by Officer Mckinnon of the Merced Police Department. McKinnon located the suspect’s vehicle at a residence. He spoke to the driver of the vehicle, the driver, 26-year-old Christian Cortez, admitted to being the driver. He was arrested for felony hit-and-run
