A man was found shot in Merced on June 25, 2020, police say.
Merced Police Department responded to the area of W. 11th & G Street for the report of a shooting at 12:41 p.m. Officers arrived and located an adult male who had been shot. The adult male was pronounced deceased on scene, according to police.
Merced Police Detectives responded to the scene. Detectives were able to identify the suspect in the shooting as Juan Carreno of Merced, police say.
Carreno was later arrested in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way. Carreno was interviewed by detectives and later booked into the county jail for murder.
