Merced Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. 18th Street to investigate a shots fired call. When officers arrived in the area, they located a gunshot victim in the area. The victim had a single gunshot wound to his right leg. The suspect(s) fled the area before officers arrived in the area. Investigators were notified and are conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the suspect(s). Riggs Paramedics arrived at the crime scene and administered medical assistance to the victim.
The victim was medi-flighted to a regional hospital to receive additional medical assistance. Police are asking for citizens to provide any information about this shooting that will lead to the identity of the suspect(s) involved in this shooting.
