A suspect has been arrested for murder after allegedly shooting a man on Vine Avenue near Fruitland Avenue, just outside the Atwater city limits.
The suspect, identified as Straigarrow Justin McPherson, refused to come out of his residence nearby, according to a press release.
Merced County Sheriff’s SWAT team was called after McPherson refused to leave his residence.
After several hours of negotiations, McPherson came outside and was arrested and booked into Merced County Jail for murder.
