At approximately 10:42 p.m., an attempted residential burglary was reported at a residence on W. 2nd street with a cross of  R street in Merced.

According to the victim, the suspect attempted to break-in the front door of the residence. The suspect was then confronted by several males at the door; a brief struggle then took place. Several males were able to subdue the suspect until Merced PD officers arrived on the scene.

When Merced PD officers arrived on the scene two minutes later, they noted the suspect was bleeding from the back of the head and was unconscious. Riggs was then called for the suspect’s injuries.

The suspect eventually became conscious again, and noted he was on probation.

He was then taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries, and arrested earlier this morning.

His bail is $50,000, according to Merced County jail records.
