Suspects held a gunpoint for discharging firearm from a backyard in Merced

At approximately 12:03 a.m., a Merced PD officer observed shots fired from  a backyard on 11th and O St. in Merced.

According to an officer on scene, at least two suspects were held at gunpoint  from an alleyway through a chain link fence.

When more officers arrived on scene, they were able to detain both suspects and noted multiple shell casings were on the ground.

Both suspects had no prior arrests, according to officers.
