Traffic was at a standstill after a man was struck by a train in Atwater.
Incident happened on Thursday at approximately 7:35 p.m.
Atwater PD responded to a man being struck by a train on N.Winton Way and Atwater Blvd in Atwater.
The man was transported to Castle where he was life-flighted to a Modesto hospital.
The adult male remains in critical condition.
This could be an intentional act, police say. However, this case remains under investigation.
