Merced Police responded to R Street and W. Donna Drive for a vehicle vs pedestrian just after 7:40 p.m.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene of the collision and is cooperative with traffic investigators, police say.
Drugs nor Alcohol are not a factor, police say.
