A 30-year-old male is deceased after a vehicle crashed into a 2016 Harley-Davidson on Santa Fe and Avenue 2 in Merced County.

Incident happened at 2:25 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene, CPR was already being attempted on the 30-year-old male, according to CHP Officer Eric Zuniga.

The motorcyclist was driving eastbound on Santa Fe approaching Avenue 2 (unknown speed). The driver of the 2001 Nissan Altima did stop at the stop sign, but continued into the path of the motorcycle causing the collision, according to Zuniga.

The driver of the Nissan Altima did not see the motorcyclist, according to Zuniga.

Traffic was diverted on Santa Fe between Avenue 2 and Franklin.

Drugs or alcohol aren’t believed to be a factor in the collision. 

The collision is still under investigation, according to CHP officer Eric Zuniga.
