Merced County Sheriff Deputies responded to Santa Fe and Walnut Avenue for a pedestrian vs train incident just after 10:00 p.m., Wednesday.
First responders searched the area from Walnut Avenue down to Jones Road. Unfortunately, remains were discovered from the individual shortly after.
Due to the incident, the train remained stationary, blocking traffic for hours.
Deputies cleared the area this morning around 2:00 a.m.
No other information was immediately available.
