Two people sustained major injuries after a vehicle landed on its side in Atwater.
Incident happened on Sunday at 9:12 p.m.
CHP responded to the area of SP Avenue and N. Buhach Road for a black Cadillac SUV on its side.
An adult male and female were still in the vehicle when CHP arrived on scene. Both occupants were extracted by fire personnel and paramedics, CHP say.
CHP say the driver was driving Westbound on SP. The driver avoided the right turn and drove straight into the embankment.
No other vehicles were involved.
Both occupants were transported to a Modesto hospital.
The male driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to CHP.
