At approximately 9:42 a.m., a head-on traffic collision involving a big rig vs Honda was reported on Oakdale Road with a cross street of Buhach Road in the outskirts of Winton.
Upon further investigation, officers determined the driver of the Honda (Armando Valencia) was traveling Eastbound and attempted to pass a double yellow line, when the driver of the big rig (Roger Davis) was traveling Westbound and saw the vehicle coming head-on and attempted to avoid the head-on collision by turning his vehicle to his right side.
At the same time, the driver of the Honda shifted his car to his left side, resulting in both vehicles colliding.
The driver of the Honda, Armando Valencia, suffered major injuries and was flown to a hospital in Modesto.
The big rig driver was not injured.
