Merced CHP responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist accident on Cressey Way near Almond Avenue at 4:56 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a van and the bicyclist were traveling westbound on Cressey Way when the van hit the bicyclist. The bicyclist, an adult male, suffered significant injuries and was transported to a hospital outside the area.
The driver of the van is currently cooperating with the authorities.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
