The State of California Office of Emergency Services, 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Branch completed a fiscal and operational review of LBPD 9-1-1 system and equipment. During the visit, their 9-1-1 advisor presented statistics for their Communications Center and praised their Dispatchers on an exemplary job handling a high volume of calls for an agency our size. Los Banos Dispatchers answered 99% of all 9-1-1 calls within 15 seconds of the call coming in. The State of California requires at least 95% of calls be answered within 15 seconds. The LBPD Dispatchers have clearly exceeded that expectation on a consistent basis.
The Los Banos Police Communications Center answers an average of 1,561 9-1-1 calls per month. Over the past 12 months, 18,734 9-1-1 calls have been answered by Los Banos Police Dispatchers. 89% of those calls were made by wireless callers and 99% of those calls were answered within 15 seconds.
