CHP Merced responded to the area of southbound 99 near Sultana for a big rig overturned at 9:49 a.m.
The driver of the big rig was traveling northbound 99 in the #3 lane at 59 mph. The driver was changing lanes heading northbound to pull over on the right shoulder. He then caught himself going to far onto the dirt shoulder. The big rig driver overcorrected himself causing him to travel through the northbound lanes. The driver then crashed into the center divider, overturning the big rig on southbound 99, according to Sgt. Daniel Bowen.
The driver sustained no injuries.
The solo traffic collision is still under investigation.
