On September 21, 2018 the Merced County Sheriff’s Office STAR Team with help from Merced County Probation conducted searches of 2 residences within the City of Merced.
At about 1:36 p.m., the STAR Team and Probation went to the 200 block of East 22nd Street in the City of Merced. As a result of a search of the residence, approximately 61 grams of methamphetamine was located and seized, along with a vacuum sealer, clear plastic bags, and other packaging materials.
38 year old Michael Potts, was arrested and booked for a violation of Probation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for sales.
At approximately 8:49 p.m. the STAR Team and Probation conducted a search in the 50 block of East Sonoma Street in the City of Merced. An estimated 5,000 plus rounds of ammunition were seized, along with the following firearms.
– Springfield .45 Cal Semi-automatic handgun
– Smith and Wesson .40 Cal Semi-automatic handgun
– Springfield 9mm compact Semi-automatic handgun
– Ruger .556 Cal Mini-14 rifle
– Smith and Wesson M&P-15 .223 Cal rifle
– Remmington 870 12 Ga. shotgun
31 year old Elijio Olguin, was arrested and booked for a violation of felony probation violation, felon in possession of a firearms, and person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
