Detectives from the Merced County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a carjacking incident involving an Amazon delivery vehicle.
According to Merced County Sheriff Deputy Michael Domingue, the incident occurred mid-afternoon at the 9000 block of N. Buhach Road in Winton on January 22, 2024. The suspect, only described as a male, brandished a firearm at the driver before stealing the vehicle. The victim was not harmed during the incident.
On January 23, 2024, the Amazon delivery van was recovered on Lee Road in Balico. It is unclear if anything inside the vehicle was stolen.
Detectives are currently working with Amazon on the investigation.
