At around 3:47 p.m., Merced PD were dispatched to the area of G Street and W.23rd Street after receiving several reports of a train vs pedestrian.
Officers arrived in the area around 3:52 p.m., and confirmed it was an obvious fatality.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and the name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of the family.
