Yesterday, the first Kids Connect Community Celebration was held at Applegate Park in Merced.
The event celebrated child support awareness month.
“Were trying to connect our community and the customers we serve, with services in our community that help children and families.” said Director of Child Support Services Sharon Wardale-Trejo.
Over 58 vendors that provide services to children or families were at the event.
“Its all about us helping parents provide financial and medical support for their children. We want to have all these services available to them, so this is our way to bring everyone together and connect them with the resources they need,” said Sharon.
There was also a free hydration station, food, fresh fruits, and over 100 free backpacks full of school supplies.
The event was from 10am to 2:00pm.
