19-year-old Ricardo Perez, of Hollister, was taken into custody for felony possession of a stolen vehicle and being an unlicensed driver in Gustine.
Incident happened Sunday around 7 p.m.
Gustine PD Officer Bayer noticed a Nissan Sedan driving westbound on South Avenue without the vehicle’s headlights on. Officer Bayer conducted a records check on the Nissan and discovered it had been reported stolen by the Hollister Police Department. Officer Bayer made a vehicle traffic stop on Hwy 33 and Borba Road. The vehicle was occupied with four subjects as Officer Bayer held them at gun point until Officer Roseen arrived on scene to assist.
Ricardo Perez and three other subjects were in the stolen vehicle at the time. The three subjects claimed they were not aware the vehicle was stolen. They were not charged with any crime and were released from the scene.
