On January 30, 2019, the Merced Police Department received calls regarding a shooting which had occurred in the 100 block of W. Main. Officers arrived in the area and they located four juveniles who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Officers were able to secure the scene and the victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Three of the victims were in stable condition, while the fourth was critical. The Merced Police Department Crime Scene Response Team responded to the scene to assist in the collection evidence. Merced Police detectives are currently working the case and following up on leads. The suspect is described as an adult male in his late 20’s or 30’s. At this point in the investigation, a motive has not been determined.
