3 suspects were arrested after assault and robbery in downtown Merced, police say.

Incident happened today, April 17, 2020, at 4:11 p.m.

Merced Police received a call regarding an assault that occurred, in the 300 block of W. Main Street.

When officers arrived they located two victims. The victims were approached by three subjects, who started using gang slurs towards the victims. The suspects then assaulted the victims causing injuries that required medical aid.

During the assault the suspects took a cellphone belonging to one of the victims.

Officers located the suspects in the 1900 block of “K” Street. The suspects had blood on their clothing during the contact.

The suspects were arrested for assault causing medical aid, robbery, gang association and the felony gang enhancement.

The suspects were booked into the Merced County Jail on the above mentioned charges.
