At approximately 2:51 p.m., first responders responded to a possible multi- vehicle traffic collsion on Santa Fe in Winton.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they noted there was not a traffic collsion. Instead traffic was backed up due to an attempted assault/vandalism incident from one man in the roadway, according to witnesses.
Witnesses also stated the man went on to a hood of a vehicle, while the vehicle was still moving.
According to witnesses, the man then took off on foot towards Santa Fe heading towards Winton.
Witnesses stated the man was hispanic roughly in his 40’s-50’s.
Officers were able to locate one man and detain him shortly after. Medics then were called again for post assault on Santa Fe between California and Chestnut Road in Winton.
Its unknown what caused the assault/vandalism incident at this time.
No major injuries reported.
