On July 21, 2019, at approximately 11:06 pm, a 49-year-old male from Atwater was struck by a Honda Civic on Avenue 2 at Gurr Road.
Upon further investigation it was determined the victim was walking westbound in the westbound lane of Avenue 2. An unknown driver, driving a 2006-2011 silver Honda Civic was traveling westbound on Avenue 2. The Honda was involved in a collision with the pedestrian which resulted in major injuries.
The Honda is believed to have damage to the passenger side headlight and missing the passenger side mirror as it was detached during the collision, according to CHP.
