On June 22nd, 2017 the Merced County Sheriff’s office responded to the area of Avenue One and Gurr Road, in Atwater for reports of a deceased person on the shoulder of the road. Deputies arrived and found 26- year-old Jose Anthony Tarin of Merced deceased.
Over the last year Detectives have been working on the case and where ultimately able to identify 28-year-old Ricardo Inzunza as the suspect in the death of Tarin. Inzunza was already in custody pending other charges.
