Earlier today, Los Banos Police Department Investigations and Code Enforcement Divisions joined forces to serve a search warrant at a problem home in the 2200 block of Canal Farm Lane.
The home has been without running water and electricity; and has become a concern in the community. In a joint effort, the two Police Department teams came together to build a case against the property owner and occupants of the home.
Police arrested six at the home this morning on various narcotics related charges.
The homeowner, Rachel Thompson, 42 of Los Banos was charged with maintaining a home where drugs are used or sold. Lori Marie Guzman, 51 and Albert Noriega, 33 were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Joshua Bronson, 22 was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and methamphetamine. Elijah Esquivel, 20 was charged for possession of drug paraphernalia, and Linda Garcia, 40 was arrested for possession of burglary tools and an outstanding warrant.
Code Enforcement Officers issued citations for a number of violations totaling over $600 dollars.
Additionally, two vehicles were removed from the property and two others have been tagged and are in the abatement process. Additional fines will be levied if the property owner fails to cleanup and maintain the property.
Los Banos Police say Code Enforcement has placed three homes in receivership and tore down five additional blight and unsafe homes in their community in the last 5-years. When a home is abandoned, unmaintained, and uninhabitable in a neighborhood, it attracts crime, unhealthy conditions, and drives home values down.
