On 11/15/18 at approximately 11:29 PM. officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Yosemite Ave and G St. A witness saw a vehicle driving westbound on Yosemite Ave at G St. strike a pedestrian that was sitting in the middle of the roadway.
A possible suspect vehicle was described as a white minivan which fled the scene westbound on Yosemite Ave. The suspect vehicle may have sustained damage to the frontend according to witnesses.
On 11/19/2018 the Merced Police Department Traffic Division located the suspect vehicle and identified the driver as Narkesh Kumar (36 years) of Livingston Ca. Mr. Kumar was booked at the Merced County Jail for 192 (c) Vehicular Manslaughter and 20001 VC felony hit and run.
