Marcus Pulliam, suspect, was arrested in connection of multiple break-ins and starting a fire at an Atwater business complex.

Atwater Police Chief Michael Salvador says officers responded to a commercial burglary alarm at the 500 blk  E. Bellevue Road at 3:50 am.

Officers responded to the incident and located evidence of both a break-in and fire set at the location. Evidence at the scene linked this case to a series of break-ins in the same business complex over the past several days, Salvador says.

According to Salvador, surveillance video at the business led officers to identify a suspect in the case.

Atwater Police arrested Pilliam near the 1100 Blk of Kelso St.

Pilliam, 36, was arrested at 1100 Blk of Kelso St.

He was booked 1 count of burglary and 1 count of arson, Salvador says.

Officers are still investigating and are asking the publics assistance in providing surveillance video in the area at the time of the incident. The public is also urged to help the Atwater Police Department’s by providing relevant information regarding this incident.
