Two Livingston police officers were arrested for allegedly making a false arrest/citation of an individual, according to the Merced County District Attorney’s Office.
Sergeant Wapinder Kang and Police officer Harjinder Singh Heer were arrested for allegedly violating penal code 118.1, (a false report of a peace officer).
A complaint was filled regarding an illegal fireworks enforcement detail on July 3, 2021. Both officers allegedly made a false arrest of an individual.
The Merced County District Attorney’s Office investigated and gathered evidence of the alleged incident.
Both officers were arrested and immediately released due to the pandemic, Merced DA says.
