A man was found dead after his body was discovered on California Street in Winton.
Merced County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 7000 Block of California Street in Winton for an assault.
When they arrived at the residence they found a Hispanic male subject identified as 36-year-old Julio Lucero from Winton deceased. The Merced County Sheriff’s Investigations Bureau was called to the scene to investigate an apparent homicide. While the detectives were on scene, they arrested 30-year-old Edgar Simon Duran in connection with the homicide.
