The former Snelling Ranch of Horrors will now be relocated at the Merced Fairgrounds under a new name “Beyond The Gates”. This comes after some improvements being made at Snelling Ranch, according to co-owner Brenda Lee.
“Its hard to be a ranch at the fairgrounds, so we had to change the name,” said Brenda. “We will eventually move back to our original location after those improvements are made.”
The new location will also have a few food trucks and vendors, according to the owners.
One of the newest attractions set for Beyond The Gates is an alien based attraction called “Gate 51”. The new attraction is expected to involve aliens, paintballs, and a crashed alien space ship.
Some of the other haunted attractions include:
Gates of Terror – Extreme maze that is filled with nightmares, fears and tears. This haunted house is not for the faint of heart or young children.
Gate 13 – Beyond gate 13, lies an abandon mining camp. What happened to the miners? Will you have the same fate or will you be able to escape…… No flip flops or open toe shoes allowed in paintball.
Gates to Hell – Welcome to the dark underworld! Can you find your way out? Or will you be lost in hell?
Gates to Insanity – Maze to drive you crazy!
“There’s no admission charge, there will be a theatre area playing horror movies for people who don’t want to go in any of the haunted attractions,” said Brenda.
Prices for Beyond The Gates are expected to be more affordable this year, according to the owners.
No backpacks will be allowed and security will be in full force at Beyond The Gates.
Opening day is set for Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Merced Fairgrounds.
