The regular meeting will be Monday at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor of the Merced Civic Center (City Hall), 678 W. 18th St.
On the agenda:
•The Council is being asked to change the hours at City parks due to safety issues. Parks would be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. March 1 to Oct. 31 and from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nov. 1 to Feb. 28 or 29. The ordinance would not apply to bike and pedestrian paths, facilities with stadium lighting or during City-sponsored events.
•Every three years building and fire codes are reviewed and updated in the state. A public hearing will be held on the ordinances to reflect those updates.
•Staff will present the draft report on a refuse rate study and ask Council to set a public hearing on the proposed rate for Feb. 3.
The Council will meet after the regular meeting in closed session to meet with the real property negotiators.
The meetings are streamed on Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook, City of Merced.
The City Council meets the first and third Monday of the month, except when there is a holiday, then it meets the following day.
