On November 1, 2019 Walmart celebrated their grand re-opening of the newly remodeled Atwater Supercenter at 800 Commerce Ave.

The grand re-opening ceramony and community celebration started at 7:00 a.m.

The improvements at the Atwater Supercenter are part of Walmart’s plan to spend an estimated $145 million this year in California through the remodeling and opening of 21 stores and continued expansion of several innovations that save customers time and money, according to a news release.

“This is such an exciting time for us at the Atwater Supercenter because so much work has been put into improving our store for our customers,” said store manager Alma Valadez. “For me, I can’t wait for our customers to see the new and unique layout of the store, which I think will really improves the time they spend with us.”

The following improvements were done at the Atwater Walmart:

  • State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that allow customers to try laptops, tablets, mobile phones and more before purchase
  • Enhanced home and apparel departments with a new layout
  • Improved layout and lighting in produce and bakery
