Atwater resident Valerie Prunetti Roden had a night to remember when Snoop Dogg invited her 30-year high school reunion classmates from Long Beach Polytechnic High School to an after-party at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles immediately following their class reunion.
“It was an epic class reunion that will not be topped! Snoop hosted our after-party. He couldn’t go to the 10th or 20th reunion, due to his schedule, so he PROMISED to do something for our 30th reunion and he came through in the most epic way possible,” said Valerie.
“Color Me Badd opened the show and welcomed us when we came in and Doug E. Fresh introduced them! It really was a whirlwind to see Rap Royalty in front of us. Color Me Badd was the surprise guest! They were a soundtrack to our lives and it was truly a surprise to see them up there performing,” said Valerie. “Doug E. Fresh beatboxed and gave an amazing performance. He was a great MC. Slick Rick was blinged out. I think he was wearing over a million dollars worth of jewelry that night. Snoop of course was the highlight of the whole night. He performed classic songs and danced all night. He was down to earth and was very interested in his classmates. I was so surprised that he represented our class so well. It was NEVER about Snoop Dogg or the other artists. He ALWAYS kept the focus on the “Class of 89″ He had tons of LB Poly pride and represented us well.”
Overall, Valerie told Merced Daily, “Everyone kept our class spirit as the focus and they made sure everyone had fun. Snoop was generous with his time and interacted with classmates and even had professional pictures for those who wanted a picture with him. He was a class act and made sure our reunion was the focus, not the entertainers.”
“Snoop Dogg hosted and partied the whole event. After the party, we went back on the bus he charted for us, then he came on the bus to thank us for coming. This was the best reunion ever!”
