Two former Disney cast members, now teachers, hand built a Michael Myers house display for the public to view in Atwater.
The creators of the display, married couple Ben and Emily Auer, met when Ben recreated a Disney show he put on Youtube. Emily saw it, quickly becoming an online pen pal with Ben. They would start an online distance relationship for two years before moving to Anaheim with the intent on making a career at Disney.
They would work at Disney for five years before moving back to Emily’s hometown of Atwater in 2019.
The display was originally supposed to be a walkthrough with characters, but due COVID-19 that idea made that dream difficult, according to Ben Auer.
However, the public will be able to watch and hear a nine minute loop from October 19th-November 1.
The Michael Myers house display is located at 1670 1st Street in Atwater.
