One man is dead after a fatal collision on Applegate Road.
CHP was dispatched to the area of Applegate Road near Atwater Jordan Road for a possible fatal collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle at 8:03 a.m.
According to CHP Officer Eric Zuniga, a collision occurred on Applegate Road between a Dodge Ram pickup travelling southbound and a motorcycle that merged onto the southbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision.
The motorcyclist, an adult male, died on scene.
The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup cooperated with authorities.
The investigation on why the motorcyclist merged into the opposite lane is on-going.
