It has been more than five years since Orchard Supply shut it’s doors in Merced.
Within those early years of being vacant, the property faced several ongoing problems with vandals, thieves, and homeless issues.
The crime was so out of hand that a closed brick wall had to be built on every opening that was visible. (As shown in the two pictures)
Now years later, the eyesore of the former Orchard Supply building will be re-modeled into Planet Fitness and a retail store.
There will now be five major gyms within a three mile radius of each other.
Planet Fitness also has over 1,500 locations and is open 24/7.
