A head-on traffic collision was reported early Wednesday morning on westbound Santa Fe just west of El Capitan.
CHP responded to the area at 6:19 a.m.
When CHP arrived on scene they found a 2004 Jaguar driven by 39-year-old Marco Medina, Winton, and a 2005 GMC Yukon driven by 40-year-old Eddie Reeves.
The investigation determined Marco Medina was driving westbound Santa Fe at a high-rate of speed. CHP say Marco somehow lost control of the vehicle, went off the right shoulder, over corrected, and crashed into the 2005 GMC Yukon.
Eddie Reeves was airlifted to a Modesto hospital.
No drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the collision, according to CHP.
