At 10:44 a.m., a report of a solo vehicle collision on Highway 99/16th St. in Merced is reported.
According to witnesses, the vehicle appeared to crash into some type of structure. The driver was also reported to be unconscious inside the vehicle.
When paramedics arrived on scene, they attempted life saving measures, but were unsuccessful. Paramedics then noted (1144) obvious fatality.
**Update 2:30 PM** Vehicle is described as a red Ford Fiesta.
