Atwater Firefighters were dispatched to a residential structure fire on First Street and Fire Avenue in Atwater around 2:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, at least 25% of the residence was on fire.
More fire engines responded to help contain the blaze.
A total of four engines, two from Atwater and two from Merced County were on scene to help contain the fire.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze about an hour later.
The fire is believed to have started from the attic.
No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
The cause of fire remained under investigation.
