The California Highway Patrol responded to the intersection of Central Avenue and Walnut Avenue for a two vehicle traffic collision at 3:17 p.m.
According to CHP officer Lori Gonzales, a male driver, 18, was driving a white pickup on Central Avenue, heading southbound. Meanwhile, the driver of the black Sedan, heading eastbound, was stopped at the intersection of Walnut Avenue. It was at that time, the driver of the white pickup ran the stop sign, crashing into the driver side of the black Sedan.
The driver of the pickup did not know there is a stop sign at Central Avenue and Walnut Avenue, according to Gonzales.
The driver from the black sedan was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons, the female passenger was transported to an out of area hospital for major injuries, according to Gonzales.
No drugs or alcohol are suspected in the crash.
