A 45-year-old man was shot just before midnight in Los Banos, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a man shot outside an apartment complex in the 1900 block of San Luis Street.
The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. He remains in critical condition.
The victim was reportedly sitting outside his apartment when he was approached by two men on foot. At least one of the men opened fire, shooting multiple times, before fleeing the area on foot through the apartment complex.
Detectives are early on in the investigation and are continuing to talk to witnesses and examine evidence.
