Merced PD responded to the area of 988 D Street for a shots fired call.
When officers arrived they located a 22-year-old female with gun shot wounds. The female was airlifted to a Modesto hospital where she was pronounced deceased, police say.
Investigators are currently working to locate witnesses and surveillance video.
The victim’s identity will be withheld pending notification of her family. The suspect(s) in this case have not yet been identified.
