More than two years ago, the City of Atwater approved the “Redwood Project,” consisting of two separate three-story residential and commercial properties separated by a breezeway behind Taco Bell on Redwood Avenue near Bellevue Road.

The project is expected to include ground-level shops with market rate apartments above them.

So why the delay?

Atwater City officials have stated that the project was delayed due to architecture and civil engineering issues. However, the developer plans to continue and has now submitted the final mapping of the project, which is currently under city review.
